Professor and Attorney-at-Law

Marc-André Renold, Dr. iur., LL.M. (Yale), studied at the Universities of Geneva and Basel in Switzerland and at Yale University in the USA.  He is an attorney-at-law, a member of the Geneva Bar, and is of counsel to the firm Wenger-Plattner practicing in the fields of art and cultural heritage law, intellectual property and public and private international law.

Marc-André Renold is professor of art and cultural heritage law at the University of Geneva and the director of its Art-Law Centre. Since March 2012 he holds the UNESCO Chair in international cultural heritage law at the University of Geneva.  He is the author or co-author of many publications in the field of international and comparative art and cultural heritage law. He has been, since its inception, an editor of the “Studies in Art Law” series (25 volumes published to date).
